The workshop addresses a topic that is not very often applied in environmental education – the beekeeping. More precisely the significance and coherence between forest and beekeeping and the role of bees in ecosystem. The topic of workshop is focused on the activities and games targeted to increasing awareness of beekeeping and involving youth to gain a better understanding of close to nature beekeeping. The topic as a part of environmental education enables to obtain principles of ecosystem sustainability. Participants will receive an overview and basic information about principles of the beekeeping, relationship between bees and forest, hierarchy of bee communities, benefits from the forest in context of honey profit. The workshop will include practical activities that can be realized with children and youth.
Participants will be involved in the activities:
- Do bees live in the forest?
- How do I know favourite trees of bees?
- Do you know the taste of forest honey?
- Who is the fastest bee?
- How do bees defend themselves from the enemy?
